A Midlands-based local authority needed to strengthen the electrical resilience of its disaster recovery data centre. Blackwell Generators supplied a new 88 kVA diesel generator engineered to support essential digital infrastructure if the normal mains supply is interrupted.
The generator set combines a Baudouin industrial diesel engine with a Stamford brushless alternator. FW Power Generators worked with the council's facilities and infrastructure teams on system sizing, site integration, commissioning and testing.
The critical-power challenge

Why a Baudouin engine and Stamford alternator were selected
Baudouin engines are established in industrial power-generation applications and provide the robust diesel platform needed for a critical standby generator. Their practical serviceability and load-acceptance characteristics made the engine a strong fit for the council's resilience requirements.
