What generator sizes does Blackwell supply?+
The published Blackwell catalogue spans approximately 8.5 kVA prime to 3,150 kVA standby across seven ranges. The correct selection depends on duty, load steps, power factor, voltage, phase and site conditions—not only the maximum running load.
Which diesel engine brands are available?+
Blackwell generator sets are available with Perkins, Cummins, Baudouin and Doosan engines. The range pages identify the engine and alternator fitted to each listed model, with matching source datasheets.
Are Blackwell generators made in the UK?+
Blackwell is a British generator brand. The Perkins Premium single-phase range is designed, assembled and supported in the United Kingdom. Other Blackwell ranges use globally sourced engines and components and are configured for UK and international projects. Your quotation confirms the exact build origin and specification.
What is the difference between prime and standby power?+
Standby rating is for emergency operation during failure of a reliable normal supply, within the manufacturer’s permitted hours and without overload. Prime rating is for extended variable-load operation under the engine maker’s conditions. The same model therefore has a lower prime rating than standby rating.
Can Blackwell build a custom generator?+
Yes. Project options can include open or acoustic construction, extended fuel autonomy, automatic transfer switches, synchronising, sockets, remote monitoring, bespoke control, alternative voltage or frequency and application-specific acoustic treatment. Feasibility is confirmed during specification.
Do you supply single-phase and three-phase generators?+
Yes. The Perkins Premium range includes a dedicated 230 V single-phase selection and a separate 400/230 V three-phase range. EcoMax and SB also include selected single-phase models, while most commercial and industrial models are three phase at 50 Hz. Other export voltages and 60 Hz configurations can be assessed.
Can you deliver and install the generator?+
Blackwell and FW Power can coordinate UK delivery, positioning, installation, ATS integration, testing and commissioning. International projects can include export preparation and shipping support. Scope and access requirements are agreed before quotation.
What warranty is provided?+
The standard published warranty is 12 months or 1,000 operating hours, whichever occurs first, subject to the applicable terms, correct installation, approved operation and maintenance. The final quotation and warranty documentation define the coverage for each project.
What after-sales support is available?+
Support includes planned preventive maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, repairs, load-bank testing, fuel polishing, control and ATS upgrades, battery systems, remote monitoring options and spare-parts assistance.
Can Blackwell generators be exported?+
Yes. The team has supplied projects to more than 27 countries. Provide the destination, required voltage and frequency, operating environment, emissions requirements, delivery terms and commissioning needs so the correct export configuration can be proposed.
How do I request a generator quotation?+
Send the site location, application, standby or prime duty, voltage and phase, load schedule, largest motor, fuel autonomy, enclosure and control requirements. If those details are not yet known, the Blackwell team can help structure a site assessment.
